The career search process can be confusing, so it's okay to have some questions before working with us. Below you'll find answers to frequently asked questions about our career coaching program and Sprout (ISA).

What services are provided through Prepory’s Career Coaching program?

Prepory’s Career Coaching program is a 90-day (or less) intensive that pairs you with a Career Coach who will guide you through the job search process. Your coach will perform an interests/personality assessment, target jobs, assist you with the application process and help you negotiate your salary. We recognize that each career search process is unique, so we have options for a-la-carte or other types of engagements. Contact us directly to learn more.

Who are the career coaches?

Prepory’s Career Coaches are part-time and full-time team members that have worked across several industries. All career coaches go through extensive vetting and training before working with any clients.

How do I meet with my career coach?

You and your career coach will communicate via phone, email, and video conference. The majority of the 90-day career coaching program occurs via regularly scheduled video conferences. You and your career coach will work together to select a time that works best for you to meet.

Are the topics related to general job searches, or tailored to my specific needs?

Your assigned career coach will provide you with both general and tailored advice. The job search process is extremely nuanced, so our program is mostly tailored to serve your needs, improve your strengths, and minimize your weaknesses.

What’s the time commitment for the Career Coaching program?

The Career Coaching program consists of a total of 17 hours. The first third of the program will involve intensive coaching and assistance. The following two-thirds of the program will be responsive to where you are in your job search process (e.g. interview prep and follow up for specific positions). Sessions will last about an hour and will be flexible according to your schedule. You’ll also receive unlimited support from your career coach via email and phone.

Is there a guarantee I’ll get hired after working with Prepory?

While Prepory Career Coaching alumni are hired 30% faster than the market average, there are no guarantees in the career search process. Our goal is to support job seekers and ensure our clients have the tools and knowledge necessary to successfully navigate the career search process.

How long does it take for your clients to land a position?

The average job search process is 5 months long, but the majority of our clients are hired within 3.5 months.

What cities do Prepory alumni typically get hired in?

Prepory Career Coaching alumni have earned positions all over the world, including Tokyo, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Miami, and New York. If you’re interested in moving to particular city, your career coach will work with you to identify opportunities in that area.

What type of jobs or industries do Prepory Career Coaching alumni work in?

We work with clients with all sorts of interests. Our clients have earned positions across an array of industries including finance, technology, education, and consulting.

What is discussed during the 90-day intensive career coaching program?

Although the program is tailored to your specific goals and skill set, our career coaches will cover the following topics: personality/aptitude assessments, goal setting, job search mapping, résumés, cover letters, online presence, job sourcing, interview prep, and compensation negotiation. Topics are subject to change in order to most benefit you.

Why should I participate in Prepory’s career coaching program?

The job search process is subjective and non-intuitive. You typically have one chance to impress a hiring manager with your résumé or during an interview and getting that chance takes time. Our average client earns full time employment within 3.5 months - more than 30% faster than the market average.

If I'm not ready for full-time positions, can you help find me an internship?

It depends on the industry and type of internship. You can contact us directly to discuss the options we have available for you.

How do you calculate that your career coaching clients are hired 30% faster than the market average?

According to 2018 Survey conducted by Randstad US, found that it takes, on average, five months to finally land a new job. Prepory career coaching participants are typically hired within 3.5 months.

What is Sprout and how is it different from Prepory’s Career Coaching?

Sprout is a financing mechanism for Prepory’s Career Coaching program. If a participant does not have the funds to pay for Prepory’s Career Coaching program, they can apply for Sprout’s services. Sprout funds a participant’s career coaching through an income-share agreement (ISA).

Do Sprout participants receive different services than Prepory Career Coaching clients?

No. Sprout participants receive the exact same service offering. The only difference is the financing mechanism for the career coaching service.

What is an income share agreement (ISA)?

An ISA is a contractual agreement in which a participant does not pay money up front for services. In this case, the participant would not pay for Prepory’s career coaching services up-front. After the program is over and the participant has accepted a position, they share a fixed percentage of post–program income over a defined number of months.

What are the benefits to participants?

ISA payments adjust according to levels of income. The minimum income threshold and payment cap ensure participants who use the program will not pay if they do not earn a minimum income level, while those who earn a substantial amount of income will not pay above a certain amount.

How does signing the Income Share Agreement work?

The program is completely free until you’re hired and making at least $40,000. Once you’re earning $3,333.34 per month ($40,000 per year), you’ll pay 10% of your income for 12 months.

10% of my income for 12 months sounds like a lot. Is it really worth it?

Although 10% of your salary for 12 months sounds like a lot, Sprout participants cut the average job search process by 1.5 months. Therefore, the program pays for itself and your coach will even help you negotiate your salary and benefits package. Most importantly, Sprout aligns your own best interest with ours because we only get paid when you do.

What is the process to apply for the Sprout program and how long does it take?

After an initial conversation with a Prepory team member, you’ll be invited to apply via email. The application will only take a few minutes to complete, and your account will be up and running within one week.

Is there a trial period for the Sprout program?

Yes. You can cancel within one week (7 calendar days), so there is no risk in trying it out and benefiting from risk-free career coaching.

What happens after I get hired?

Our partner, Vemo, reaches to request employment verification information (e.g. recent pay stubs) and get you set up for easy, seamless processing of your ISA.

What happens if my income falls below the minimum income threshold?

The minimum income threshold for this ISA is $40,000/year. If your income falls below $40,000/year, your payments will pause. Your payments will resume when your income increases above the threshold.

Will participants be required to pursue a specific career?

Absolutely not. There are no requirements stipulating the nature or type of employment that participants choose after program completion.

What if I am already working or what if I already have an offer from another company before participating in Sprout?

You can participate in Sprout regardless of your employment status.

What is our refund policy?

Right to Cancel

  1. The coachee reserves the right to cancel his/her enrollment in Prepory’s career coaching program (the “Program”) and the associated Income Share Agreement, without any penalty or obligation, within seven (7) days of executing the Income Share Agreement.

  3. For the purpose of determining the amount of the refund, the date of the coach’s withdrawal shall be deemed the last date of recorded attendance. The amount owed equals the daily charge for the Program (total institutional charge, minus non-refundable fees, divided by the number of days in the Program), multiplied by the number of days scheduled to attend, prior to withdrawal.
