When should I get started?

The earlier, the better. The college admissions process is a holistic process and evaluates all four years of high school, so it’s very important to begin planning early. In comparison, most elite private schools begin college planning in 7th grade.

Who are the college admissions coaches?

Prepory coaches are current college students at the some of the most selective colleges and universities across the U.S. including, Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, and Amherst. All coaches go through extensive vetting and training before working with any students. To learn more about our coaches, visit our "Meet the Coaches" page.

How are students paired with their coach?

Students are paired with their coach based on time availability and interests. We encourage students to review our “Meet the Coaches” page to learn more about each coach while making a decision on who to work with.

When are the sessions?

Students select from several after school time options to meet with their coach. Students will meet with their coach at the same time each week for the duration of that semester. One-on-one sessions are individually scheduled at the convenience of the student and coach. Thematic and college exploration workshops occur alternatively on Monday evenings.

What is discussed during small group discussions and one-on-one sessions?

Discussions are led using Prepory’s proprietary curriculum which breaks down what students should accomplish during each week of high school to maximize their success in the admissions process. Coaches discuss topics related to academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, college exploration, application requirements, career exploration, and course rigor.

How long are small group discussions and other Prepory services?

Small group discussions are approximately 45-60 minutes long. One-on-One Sessions are approximately 15-20 minutes. Thematic and College Exploration Workshops are approximately 45-60 minutes long.

Where do small group discussions and other services take place?

All Prepory services are accessible via our online learning management system. Small Group Discussions and One-on-One Sessions occur via video conference and telephone, respectively. Essay and résumé critiques are submitted via the learning management system.

Is this for a grade?

No. This is a supplemental service intended to support and inform students to successfully navigate the college admissions process. However, it’s expected for students to maintain participation and communication with their coach.

Does Prepory guarantee my acceptance to a highly selective university?

Although we have a strong track record of success, nothing is guaranteed in the college admissions process. Our goal is to support students and ensure students have the tools and knowledge necessary to successfully navigate the admissions process.
